The Certificate III in Aquatics and Community Recreation must be completed within 12-18 months, offers a maximum of 50 SACE points and requires 376 nominal hours.
Face-to Face Courses
Students will be required to attend 3 face-to-face courses - Swimming and Water Safety Instructor, Pool Lifeguard and Provide First Aid. Information on each of these courses will be provided on enrolment.
Students will be required to complete 7 self-paced units. Assessment workbooks and a student resource will be provided for each unit to assist with their studies.
Students will be required to complete field experience for the Swimming and Water Safety Instructor course as well as certain aspects of the self-paced units. Further information will be provided on enrolment.
This course is nationally recognised and meets all AQTF requirements.
Candidates can complete the course at 16 years of age.
Completion of the Certificate III in Aquatics and Community Recreation qualification provides career pathways to work as a Swimming Instructor, Pool Lifeguard or Recreation Leader.
