Pre-Requisites

A copy of Pool Lifeguard and Provide First Aid certificates must be provided.

Physical Requirements

This is a physical course. A fitness test requires that a student must be: 

  • Able to swim 200 metres in under 6 minutes
  • Able to swim 25 metres to a casualty, tow them 25 metres and remove them from the water with assistance from other students in under 1 minute and 45 seconds.

The student must also be able to kneel for the CPR component of the course.

Assessment

A competency based practical assessment is conducted during the course

  • SISCAQU006  Supervise Clients in Aquatic Locations
  • SISCAQU007  Perform Advanced Water Rescues
  • PUAEME003C  Administer Oxygen in an Emergency Situation
  • PUAEME001B  Provide Emergency Care

This course is an industry requirement for students to complete 1 year after receiving the Pool Lifeguard certificate.

Upon successful completion, the student will receive a Statement of Attainment certificate
