This course provides the candidate with the competence required to deliver safe and enjoyable aquatic activity programs for children between the age of six months and four years of age.
Upon successful completion, you will receive a Statement of Attainment certificate.

Students will have 3 months in which to complete all aspects of the course - theory and practical.
3 month extensions (maximum of 3) are available for a set fee.

Practical teaching in an operating Swim School.
Video assessment evidence may be required.
Assessment will comprise of:
Assessment Task 1 – Questions and Answers (a student resource is available to assist students with the questions).
Assessment Task 2 - The student is required to view 6 videos and answer a series of questions at the end of each section.
Assessment Task 3 – Lesson Planning – the student is required to plan and document three lesson plans.
Assessment Task 4 – Practical teaching and reflections – the student is required to teach (under supervision) each of the three lesson plans that individually or cumulatively incorporate all the key requirements for each unit of competence. After each session, the student must complete the reflections component of this assessment task.
Assessment Task 5 - Video Assessments.
If the student’s supervisor has a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment OR the Assessor skill set (TAESS00011) AND a current Swimming and Water Safety Instructor - Infant and Toddlers qualification, the student is not required to complete a video assessment. The student MUST upload copies of their supervisor’s qualifications to the Learning Management System as evidence.
If the student’s supervisor does not hold a current Certificate 1V in Training and Assessment OR the Assessor skill set (TAESS00011), the student must video and upload footage of themselves teaching one 30-minute class. This video must include all the key requirements of the unit of competence.
**Your Assessor must meet the criteria above, as is required under the Standards for Registered Training Organisations. No other assessor licences will be accepted and video evidence will be necessary.
