Duration

Students will have 3 months in which to complete all aspects of the course - theory and practical.

Course Accreditation

On successful completion of the Swimming Instructor Infant and Toddlers course, the student will automatically receive a further 3 year extension to their Active Training Swimming and Water Safety Instructor qualification.

Delivery Mode

On-line theory using our Learning Management System (LMS).

Practical teaching in an operating Swim School

Video assessment evidence may be required.

Physical Requirements
Assessment

Assessment will comprise of:

Assessment Task 1 – Questions and Answers (a student resource is available to assist students with the questions).

Assessment Task 2 – Lesson Planning – the student is required to plan and document three lesson plans.

Assessment Task 3 – Practical teaching and reflections – the student is required to teach (under supervision) each of the three lesson plans that individually or cumulatively incorporate all the key requirements for each unit of competence. At the completion of each session, the student must complete the reflections component of this assessment task.

Assessment Task 4 – Video Assessments

If the student’s supervisor has a current Certificate 1V in Training and Assessment OR the Assessor skill set (TAESS00011) AND a current Swimming and Water Safety Instructor - Infant and Toddlers qualification, the student is not required to complete a video assessment. The student MUST upload copies of their supervisor’s qualifications to the Learning Management System as evidence.

If the student’s supervisor does not hold a current Certificate 1V in Training and Assessment OR the Assessor skill set (TAESS00011), the student must video and upload footage of themselves teaching one 30-minute class. This video must include all the key requirements of the unit of competence.

This course provides the candidate with the competence required to deliver safe and enjoyable aquatic activity programs for children between the age of six months and four years of age.

Upon successful completion, you will receive a Statement of Attainment certificate.
